The archaeology around the Lough is legendary due to the work of Sean P O'Riordain who did so much in the 1930s and 40s to unearth the secrets of the earliest dwellers.

 

His findings have been made accessible to us all through the Interpretative Centre and the Illustrated Guide put together by M J O'Kelly.
