St. Andrew’s parish church was built in 1824 on a site donated by James Gandon. It is also widely believed that Gandon had an input into the design of the church. See the St. Andrew’s Church Lucan page for more inforamtion. The new Parish Centre was built in 1996 at a total cost of £700,000 (including a major renovation programme in the church itself). Today the debt on the Centre still stands at £120,000. The Church of Ireland, Parish Centre, supports the activities of a very wide range of community groups including Montessori School, Scouts, Guides, Badminton, Bowling, Drama Group and Carers and Toddlers Group.
