Sean Dunne Literary Weekend & Young Writers' Awards
The Sean Dunne Literary Weekend 2000 will take place over the weekend of April 7th - 9th. Hotels, pubs and restaurants around Waterford City will host some of Ireland's best known writers.
New publications to be launched over the weekend will include an anthology of previous winners of the Sean Dunne Young Writers' Awards, a relaunch of Sean Dunne's first book, In my Father's House, by Gallery Press, John Ennis' latest collection of poetry, Tráithníni, by Dedalus Press, and the UNPUBLISHED writers' group anthology.

Féile na Bealtaine
Literary festival directed by poet Míchéal Fanning will take place this year in Dingle 26 - 28th April Easter Week.
Readers will include the poet John Heath Stubbs, Ardfile John Montague, American novelist Elizabeth Wassell and poet and playwright Patrick Galvin.

Irish Writers' Union
Musical/Literary Evening to be held on April 9th, 2000 at the West Lodge Hotel,Bantry ,Co. Cork. The performance will combine the work of classical authors to music of contempory style with narration. Start 9pm. Entrance £3.00
Musician composers Mark Pledger, Martin Daley, Ron Penney, and Liam Kenneally with C. Miller narrating. There will also be music by Adrian Best. Works of Shakespeare, Moore, Browning, Carroll, Tennyson and others will be narrated.

Samhlaíocht Chiarraí - Kerry Arts Festival 22-25 April
Tralee, Co. Kerry.
Professor John Montague will lead the Podium reading on Easter Sunday, April 22nd, along with selected poets,whose work will also appear in the anthology, Podium 5, also launched on April 22nd.
Sixteen finalists will perform in a 'Battle of the Poets' for the title 'Jester to the Kingdom'
A series of One 'Man' Shows will act as a showcase for budding comedians, stand-ups, humorists, performance poets, ramblers etc. who will appear at different pub venues round Tralee town during the Easter weekend: |
