Ciaran O’Connor – Managing Director.
Ciaran, 27, founded the production facilities company New Decade in 1990.  He has worked as cameraman and editor for all the major broadcasters in Ireland, the UK and also a number in Europe and the US.  He has shot two high profile documentaries, the first about the Irish relief effort in  Bosnia in 1992 entitled “A Noble Failure”, and the second on the Brendan Smyth case entitled “Keeping the Faith”.

He is currently directing the flagship, home produced comedy travel programme “Messrs Tylak and Rooney” for TV3.  Originally, 13 episodes were commissioned and a further 13 have now been commissioned for the New Year.

With the formation of Blowback Productions in 1997 Ciaran has begun to expand into film work.  His most recent project was Kung-fu Finance which he wrote and directed.

Nuala Cunningham – Project Manager.
Nuala graduated with an MA in film studies from UCD in 1997.  Since then she has been working with New Decade as a project manager overseeing the running of the production and post production facilities and has herself produced and directed a number of corporate videos.

Nuala has produced three short films – Two student projects were Snap! and  Stage Fright the latter of which was shown at the 1997 Galway Film Fleadh and at festivals in Washington DC and Manchester.

Blowback Productions, a sister company of New Decade, was formed in 1997 and is dedicated to filmmaking.  For Blowback Productions, of which she is a director, Nuala has produced Kung-fu Finance a comedy short which was recently screened at the Cork Film Festival 1998.

Most recently she acted as a Programme Consultant on the RTE ‘True Lives’ documentary Pop Tarts and Chemotherapy which followed one man in his fight against cancer.

Dympna Grieve – Cameraperson and Chief Editor.
Dympna  has been with New Decade for three years and has coordinated the company’s expansion from 2 machine to digital on-line editing systems.  As New Decade’s principal editor she is proficient in both systems.  Her credits to date include numerous corporate videos (Compaq, M+M Futures, Dublin Transportation Office, Progressive Democrats), Electronic Press Kits (Dancing at Lunaghsa, The Mammy, The General) and countless news edits.  Some recent projects also include Dujour, (a music video aired on RTE’s No Disco), Kung-fu Finance (a short film shown at the Cork Film Festival 1998), Rivers of Words (a documentary on Thomas MacGreevy for RTE).

Dympna is also a camera operator and can work in Beta SP and DVC Pro.  She shoots regularly for clients such as BBC, UTV, RTE, TnaG, ITN, SKY, NBC, Pro7 (Germany), SAT 1 (Munich) and CNN.

Linda Cardiff – Director, INTV.
Linda’s background is in the telecommunication and computer industries.  In her capacity as consultant within that field and through her knowledge of television production, she noted an increasing demand for, and interest in, video on the Internet, especially as a business tool.  In 1997 she founded INTV to service that market.  INTV currently offers a wide range of video production services for business and personal users.  INTV services include, scripting, shooting and editing your video.  We can then encode your video and host it on a video server.

Linda is also developing another facet of INTV as Ireland’s first Internet TV station.  All of the content on the site will be on video format.  The aim of this site is to give people living outside Ireland visual access to the country.   The plans for the site include daily Irish news, sport, business news, comedy, theatre and a range of feature stories.

Patricia Danaher – Reporter/Producer.
Patricia joined us from RTE in 1998 to manage all news reports from the Republic of Ireland for UTV, a long-standing client of New Decade’s.  Although she works mainly as a TV reporter, she is also a news and features producer, print journalist and critic.  Since she joined New Decade, her output has been prodigious working the full gamut of news reporting from politics and features to entertainment and sport.

Kaye O’Toole – Office/Accounts Manager.
Kaye has been with New Decade since its foundation in 1990.  She has been central to the expansion of the company into its present format.  She manages the accounts for all three New Decade companies and is responsible for the smooth running of the operation.
