As already mentioned, we are located on the Western Way walking trail. This leads you around the lake shore to the scenic area of Maum (where director John Ford filmed "The Quiet Man"). Stop at the famous Keane's Pub in Maum and have lunch or a quiet drink then be collected by one of our lodge boats (prior arrangement necessary) for a boat trip on the lake. Perhaps stop on historic Castlekirk - a small island housing the ruins of a substantial fortification. Round your day off with one of our wonderful home cooked meals at Nonaim Lodge. |
There are many other walks available around Nonaim Lodge - one to fit any level of fitness. Or why not try exploring the vastness of Lough Corrib with its hundreds of islands. Bring a picnic, swim or simply relax on a quiet island. Visit the famous island of Inchagoill with its ancient churches one of which is early 6th Century and is reputed to be the burial place of St. Patrick's nephew. |
