The Pan Celtic Solo's were held in Tralee last Sunday which was also the 3rd leg of the Munster League. Larry Flynn Jnr and Sean Maloney displayed an excellent performance. Larry took home the Junior Pan Celtic Piping Championships and 2nd in the Open Grade for Piping, this gave him enough points to win the Munster Junior League outright and 3rd in the Munster League. Sean won 3rd in Munster Novice Drumming and was placed 3rd overall in the Munster Novice Drumming League.

The Band completes for the first time this season, next Sunday 3rd May 2004 at the Munster Mini Band Contest in Cork. The band is entering both Grade 5 and Grade 4.

In additional news, Pat Dowd returns to the band after a long absence away from his bagpipes.

It was again a good weekend for our solo players, where Larry Flynn Jnr took 3rd in Open Piping and 2nd in Junior Piping at the second leg of the Munster League in Newcastle West, County Limerick.

It was also a good day for Sean Maloney, Drum Sargent, who took 3rd in the Novice Drumming.

The pipe band as decided to compete in the European Championship in Northern Island on the 31st of July. This is a major feat for the band as it is the first time the band has competed at the European Championships.

The band would like to thank Mr James Whelan, recently retired band secretary, for his outstanding services to the pipe band for the last five years. Mr Whelan now takes up the position of public relations office for the band.
