    4. REVIEW.

    5. COOL DOWN.

NOTE ON SESSIONS TEN AND ELEVEN.

As they now stand these sessions are clearly divided into:
    Session ten: Service.
    Session eleven: Receipt of service.
The similarity of the constituent exercises, and the possible transfer of learning, make it possible that “on the day" it would be better to reorganise these sessions so that each session contains elements of the other, leaving an overall situation that the same amount of work is covered.

    .SESSION TEN.

    OBJECTIVE OF SESSION.

Forehand and backhand service. Practice in accuracy of placement of service.
Practice in rally building from service.
Practice in considered 3rd and 5th ball aggression.
Explicit practice in disguise of service spins.

    1. RECAP ON SESSION NINE.

    2. WARM UP EXERCISES.

    3. PLAYING SITUATIONS.

Forehand service. Multiple lines of play.
Student to serve to each of six targets in turn, using an identical stance in each instance. See note below.

ii) Backhand service. Multiple lines of play.
Student to serve to each of six targets in turn, using an identical stance in each instance. See note below.

Note on exercises i) and ii). Initially each of these exercises confined to topspin, or backspin, later sidespins to be introduced, followed up by free choice of placement and spin the emphasis throughout is to be on disguise of action and accuracy of placement.

    iii) Pressure play.
Six small targets are placed on each half of the table. Points may only be won by:
    a) The server, in serving, hitting a target on the receiver's side or:
    b) The receiver, in returning service, hitting a target on the server's side.
