William Oxbrow was christened on August 26 1816 in Bocking, Essex, and died 1904 in Braintree.

He married Ann Rolfe on October 2 1837 in Braintree. She was born 1819 in Chelmsford according to the 1861 Census and died 1870 in Braintree Registration District, probably Braintree itself. He then married Louisa Woodfire or Woodfine (difficult to read!) September 26, 1878 in Coggeshall, Essex daughter of Charles. She was born 1833 in Roxwell according to the 1881 census.

Details of William's occupation vary from 1837 watchmaker to 1871, but with silversmith in 1852, and then clock jobber in 1881. In 1837 he was living in Bank Street, Braintree in 1851 33 Swan Street, and back again to Bank Street in 1861 with 20 Bank Street being given in 1871 and Bocking End in 1881.

William and Ann had nine children.
