History of the House

This pre 1840 house is situated on the Main Street of the well known traditional town of Miltown Malbay. Many successful businesses have been run from this house; public house, textile factory, pharmacy and from 1945 my late father and mother, Danny & Teresa Curtin, ran a successful Butchers Shop for many years until their retirement in 1983.

In the year 2000 John and myself took on the job of renovating this charming residence to blend in the old style with the comfort of today in our welcoming and charming approved guesthouse and without changing the shopfront made famous in the postcard shown on the right.
