CARTONERIA SCULPTURE.

Here are some of my Sculptures which were commissioned by DOLAND'S Concert Venue in Limerick. Each statue is over 6 feet tall and mounted on the wall.

What is Cartoneria ?

Cartoneria ,is the art of sculpting using Paper , wire and tubing. Cartoneria is the art form widely practised through out South America. Peter started sculpting many years ago carving in wood . Then studied Cartoneria , and got bitten by the magic of the art. Combining his love of Cartoon Drawing and sculpture it has manifested itself in Cartoneria sculpture.

Each piece he creates is first shaped and formed into the wire figure he wishes. Peter then using only 100% recycled paper,matchs thousands of papers for colour and texture to creat the emotion and feel of the character. He carves and makes his own e.g. instruments, park benches, chairs ete. using any any material he can lay his hands on, showing us the beauty and life in ordinary objects we throw away in todays society.

• Peter works in all sizes and dimensions, from 6 inch's to 6 feet.
