Creative Arts Therapies Workshop - Communicating with Children

A unique opportunity, using creative therapies, to explore your own childhood experiences and adult life, finding ways to relate to children in ways that allow them communicate more freely with you and deepen your relationships. Each day we use a different therapeutic approach, with fully qualified therapists in each field, to journey into the world of the child that is within you. We will experience Dance Movement Therapy, Art Therapy, Drama Therapy, and Play Therapy.  Suitable for all who work with children and young people.

This is an eclectic, experiential training with a focus on personal development, heightening the awareness of the impact of creative approaches, and skills development. We will utilise a range of teaching mediums that may include lectures, role-play, small and large group work, case studies, video, discussions, use of creative media and experiential work.  Is provides a wonderful opportunity to experience the creative approaches that are part and parcel of the play therapy approach and develop a portfolio of new skills. A great introduction to Play Therapy! Certificates of attendance are presented to each participant.

Participants are advised not to schedule any work during the week to allow themselves engage fully in the course. Certificates of attendance are presented to each participant.

This training is suitable for: Child-care workers, teachers (recognised In-career Development course), family support staff, project workers, social workers, foster carers, day-care and early education staff, therapists, psychologists, and others working with children, families and other vulnerable clients.  This is also an ideal course for anyone considering a career in the therapy field.
