Creative Therapy with Adolescents and Adults

This training covers a range of interventions and approaches to facilitate
therapy with young clients and with adults with whom talking therapy is
not enough. We explore the use of sand play therapy, creative media, storymaking
(as assessment, therapy, and to promote coping when necessary), and a
model for understanding the development of identity and how trauma interrupts
this development. This will facilitate therapists in understanding how
to intervene to facilitate healing with traumatised clients of all ages.
This is an eclectic training, experientially based. We will utilise a
range of teaching mediums that may include lectures, role-play, small
and large group work, case studies, video, discussions, use of creative
media and experiential work. Certificates of attendance are presented
to each participant.
Participants are advised not to schedule any work during the week to
allow themselves engage fully in the course. Certificates of attendance
are presented to each participant.
This training is suitable for: qualified and trainee
psychotherapists, psychologists psychiatrists, play therapists and counsellors.
