RATHBARRY
Ráth an Bharraigh
Barry's fort or dwelling place

Rathbarry is situated on the
picturesque coastline between Clonakilty and Rosscarbery. Once the noble and beautiful residence of Lord Carbery whose descendants renounced the peerage in 1926.
The story of Rathbarry is rich in historical lore and antiquarian remains. In its own way, it is the story of Ireland.. its colorful pasts; its haunting memories and its emergence into an age of ultramodernisation. But Ireland has its own way of retaining that vital blend of past and present... and Rathbarry is one of the finest examples.
