TCI, short for Thatched Cottage Industries, is a company that is run by
my friend Rick Myers and of which he asked me to be a director.
He has a vision to bring training in film making and small
scale
film production to the north east Cork area using Opensource software.
So we are experimenting to see what we can do through Linux and how
this might be the backbone of a training, production facility hopefully
in time linking in with local Digital TV stations. I reckoned that the
community orientated approach Rick is advocating has a lot to be said
for it and while I have very little time now to be involved I
definitely hope that his ideas take off.
The compnay is currently not trading and definitely not profitable! but
we are looking into the possibilities of getting something going along
these lines based around the Mitchlestown area.
