Travel Sense &
Tips
|
Your
trip can be trouble free if you take a few precautions
before you leave, and use some common sense on the road.
We've outlined some practical tips to be aware of... |
- Photocopy
all valuable documents, including passports, travel
tickets, identity cards, travellers' cheques etc. and
keep them separate to the originals.
Tip: if
travelling with a friend, hold on to each others'
photocopies
- Maintain
regular telephone / e-mail contact with home. Give
friends or relatives an itinerary of your travel
destinations
- Take
out travel insurance. Sure, you might never need it,
but the small outlay of money will give you much peace
of mind
- Find
out about any unusual or harsh laws in the countries
you intend to visit. Pay special attention to drug
laws, as certain countries (especially in South East
Asia) have a mandatory death penalty for anyone caught
possessing even small amounts drugs. These
countries have been known to carry out this threat in
the past. Always refuse to carry and packages for
others to these countries if you are not sure of the
contents.
