Cycling
Castlebar is ideally situated for cycling and is within easy reach of various places of interest. Suggested cycles of varying distances are available from the Tourist Office. Good quality bikes can be hired on a daily/weekly basis. Same day repair service is available for rented or self owned bicycles.

Golf
Castlebar's central location in Mayo makes it the ideal base for golfers. There are three championship 18 hole golf courses with a 30 minute drive of the Bed & Breakfast, Westport, Castlebar and Mulranny.
3 par golf course can be found in Aughalusky and Westport and there are numerous pitch and putt courses locally.
Other golf courses of note within driving distances include: Carne Co. Mayo, Enniscrone Co. Sligo, Connemara Clifden, Co. Galway, Rosses Point Co. Sligo.


Sailing,
Watersports and Beaches

Mayo posesses some of the most beautiful, biggest and safest beaches in Europe and as you would expect, there are an abundance of watersports available to the entusiast.Choose between sailing, scuba diving, canoeing, surfing and snorkelling.

The Islands
Clew Bay is said to have 365 island, 'one for every day of the year'. Clare Island, once home of the ledgendary pirate queen Grainne Uaile, dominates the horizon. Ferries run daily in the summer as do ferries to Inishbofin and Inishturk. Achill Island is accessible by road. Here there are many fine drives with winding roads and cliff edge descents for the careful driver. The Atlantic drive is a must.


Other activities on offer include karting, bowling, swimming, tennis, horseriding, sea angling and heritage walks.
