PLEASE CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING BEFORE YOU PART WITH YOUR MONEY:

  • A DNA Test Sample can only come from a male with a Rock surname.
  • Females interested in participating should obtain a sample from their Rock father or brother.
  • Those who have adopted or have illegitimate males in their line, this test will not be useful for this project. But if you are still interested state this fact to the project co-ordinator.
  • Remember the testing company is the only one profiting from this study. We have nothing to gain other than satisfying our Rock Surname interest.
  • The larger the sample base the better - the true nature and value of these DNA samples will grow over time as more samples are entered into the DNA data base.
  • Remember DNA is like a genetic fingerprint, it is not susceptible to error as any individual's genealogical research is.
  • Please try research and understand this topic on your own and make sure that you feel comfortable with it.
  • Understand that this DNA information will not be shared unless you want to make it available, also this information will not be put into any big brother databases or matched against criminal or medical data bases (wrong DNA markers).
  • DNA matching is a statistical technique and not an absolute certainty. If you want more information on DNA, ask and we will gladly provide you with websites specialising in this topic.
  • All financial obligations are strictly the responsibility of the participant. All financial transactions are between you and the testing service.
  • The sampling procedure is non-invasive. All it requires is a skin scraping from the inside of your cheek.
