Club Guidelines

We would like to draw your attention to the following guidelines and club rules that will hopefully make your walk as safe and enjoyable as possible.

Members are required to bring adequate gear to meet adverse weather conditions that may be encountered in the mountain environment. The following is a list of the recommended gear:

Suitable boots
Windproof/waterproof clothing (NO DENIMS),
Gloves, hat,
Enough food and drink for the day,
Change of clothing,
A suitable rucksack with waterproof liner (a plastic bag usually does as a liner).

Members join in club outings at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety. Members accept that hillwalking and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Members must be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement.

All walks in our calendar are graded according to the following scale:

Short : usually a low level walk, normally of 6-8 miles
Long : requires a good level of fitness, may involve a number of peaks
Difficult / Severe : requires a high level of fitness and a head for heights. May involve scrambling steep ground or narrow ridges

Members are requested to observe the mountain code at all times.

Members are requested to leave NO LITTER behind ( Including "biodegradable" litter )
