MAP OF KILMYSHALL
is a small rural village in the parish of Bunclody in County Wexford, Ireland. It is
situated about 3 miles south of Bunclody, at the top of one of the foothills of Mount
Leinster. It has a population of less than 100 persons. It has a church, school, social
hall, handball alley and a shop. At its center stands the water pump, a image from the era
when indoor plumbing was unheard of.
Kilmyshall also has a soccer club (Kilmyshall United), an I.C.A. (Irish
Country-women's Association), card playing group and a few other organizations that come
and go periodically.
It is here also that the remains of Eibhlín a
Rún -about whom there is an old and beautiful song written- are
buried. There is a headstone bearing the name and date of death of her neice Eleanor Booth
in the old graveyard on Ryland hill.
