View over Sligo, etching, Robert Stewart 1999
Welcome to this new Sligo site. Sligo is recognised as one of the most beautiful Counties in Ireland. Small wonder it has always attracted and inspired Artists, Craftworkers, and Poets. The image below is called the Barnarashy Pot, a Neolithic food vessel found near Sligo Town, which is probably more than five thousand years old. People have been building and making things in this area for over seven thousand years.
With this site we aim to compile a comprehensive list of modern day artists and craftworkers in the Sligo region. Not all are on the internet, while others have their own webpages. The list is by no means complete, and if you are an Artist or Craftworker based in the Sligo Region, and would like to be included, please contact us.
