The new Business Innovation Centre, Administration Building and Library at the rapidly-expanding Sligo Institute of Technology are all evidence of Ireland's current commitment to Third Level education improvements.

Local firms collaborated on this project, including architects Rhatigan and Co. and structural engineers Jennings and O'Donovan

The total cost of the project was over £5 million and it was completed in June of 1998.

KBCE has completed work for the Sligo Institute of Technology before, refurbishing the existing buildings of the Science and Computing departments.

    Lough Arrow, County Sligo

The Lough Arrow Community Enterprise Centre was designed by Enniskillen architect Richard Pearse.

A community-based project, the centre aims to be a centre for the study of the unique geology of the Ox Moutains.

With accomodation facilities for between thirty and forty students, is located beside the ruins of an old castle. The architect has incorporated the circular forms of the castle into his design for the new structure.

Both buildings can be seen from the main Sligo-Dublin road, as it climbs the Curlew mountains on the approach to Boyle.

The Community Centre was scheduled for completion by autumn 2000, and KBCE are confident of meeting this target in the coming weeks.
