As part of the recent government initiative to improve and enhance the facilities of Third Level Institutions around the country, KBCE undertook the refurbishment of the science facilities, engineering workshops and computer rooms for the Sligo Institute of Technology, or Sligo R.T.C. as it was then known.

Local firms collaborated on this project, including architects Rhatigan and Co.

The total cost of the project was £1.8 million and it was completed in 1994.
KBCE has since carried out Structural and Civil work for the Sligo Institute of Technology to a value in excess of £5 million.

    Pavement Refurbishment
    Sligo Town

Commissioned by Sligo Corporation, KBCE worked on the footpath refurbishment at John F.Kennedy Parade, along the Garavogue River

New pavement and railings were installed, in line with the recent Urban Enhancement of the town centre

The pavement refurbishment was completed in early May 2000.

The finished job was the subject of very favourable comment from the citizens of Sligo; it has greatly enhanced this riverside walk as it shows off the historical buildings of the Mall, and Lough Gill itself, to their full advantage.
