Cheebah Record Round up.
Since the last round up limericks famous BLACKSPOT
has shut down. However the word is it may be reopening under new and equally committed
management, with a leaning towards the drum n bass side of things. Doc should be somewhere
in the equation too.
Diggin continues down THE MARKET of a Saturday, Check
out various stalls, It doesnt matter whats on offer ,there is often a box or two
underneath. I got some nice madness stuff recently. The good stuff from A cork trader [ a
stash from belgium] is now gone and the only spot of notice is SEANS Second hand
cornershop.
I got a staples sisters cut out copy["city in the
sky"stax 74;] and some Freddie Hubbard style jazz in his very disorganized back room.
Some spacey king crimson type acid/folk Stuff under the debris but listen to it first !.
Sounds for sampling, sure. But for playing? Sean is under the impression that his record
collector price book combined with a pile of very neglected vinyl equals instant profit,
so negotiations are often in order. I left quite a neat ornette colman live album behind
because of "THE BOOK". When trading its respectful to pay an ok price but it has
to be pointed out that the books price on old blue note etc is mint condition. Donít feel
shy pointing that out young dudes.
Mynt on o Connell St holds down the techno side of
things but Andrew orders some hiphop classics for the homeboys. Shane runs the show there,
and listening posts are available. EMPIRE Also on o Connell St stocks the new
grooves, ably shuffled by iron maiden fans sorcha and damien. Souljazz and classic disco
the order of the day. Check out the dvds too. Black Cesar and the Isaac Hayes classic

Check the flash one and the Levan one. This one comes from the levan one, and is, as
twisted and as feminine as one would expect. Surprisingly quite a lot of people dont
get the whole levan thing..4/4 snobbery or ignorance? Either way the amount of
his product available now should find a new discerning audience.
Thatís it for now. Hiphop still on the agenda every Friday
in mickeys.
