That's Showbiz
Way back in 1995 when the idea of staging a panto in St. Anne's School Hall the suggestion was greeted with incredulity and howls of " no way" "impossible" and "too hard". Seven years later there have been seven very successful panto's produced and performed . The first production was "Cinderella " in January 1996. It proved a winner with both audience and cast alike and inspired subsequent productions such as " Babes in the Wood" , "Alladin" , " Little Red Riding Hood " and "Jack and the Bean Stalk " Each production got more elaborate and adventureous and the most recent panto " Snow White" , staged in the last two weeks of January this year would rival any of the professional productions . The Director , actors , set designers, sound technicans, stage manangement are all done on a voluntary basis by parents from the school , teachers and others in the community. The pupils in the school have also a major part to play with some 120 acting singing or dancing in this years production. Plans are already being worked on for next years production ..watch this space |
