Tate designed this attractive Courthouse in 1845. The Board of Works paid John
Russborough to build it. They report paying him £420 and the expenses were
levied off the County. The cases heard were mostly for drunkenness and
disorderly behaviour. Colonel J. F. Forster was one of the magistrates.
