Blessed Francis Taylor

Francis Taylor was born in 1550. He was a second son; therefore he did not inherit the house. He married Gennet Ball. Francis was made Mayor of Dublin in 1595. The Protestant Mayor (not present at the time of the election) called the vote invalid. Two others replaced them but Francis Taylor was voted in again. He was imprisoned for seven years, from 1614 – 1621. At 6 p.m. on the 30th of January 1621 he died. Francis Taylor was beatified on the 27th of September 1992 by Pope John Paul II.
