Thanks very much to the parents and pupils who contributed the sum of €7,610.92 to the Sponsored Jog. This represents a decrease of 13% on last year’s figure but in the prevailing economic climate, it was a commendable achievement and reflects well on the generosity of many members of our school community. A worrying trend however was the fact that 96 cards were not returned to the school. Formation of Board of Management, 2011-2015 The elections and selection processes for the establishment of the new Board of Management were completed in late November. Practically all of the pupils in 6th Class have now obtained places for the coming school year. Parents of pupils in other classes who wish to send their sons to Coláiste Choilm, should contact that school without delay because it operates a waiting list system. Places for Fingal Community College and St Finian’s Community College are allocated to pupils while they are in 6th Class. Enrolment of Junior Infants for School Year 2012/2013 Parents are advised to collect application forms from the School Secretary and return completed form and baptismal certificate by Friday, 27 January 2012 at the latest. The attendance at the recent Parent/Teacher meetings was very high, and indicative of the interest which many parents have shown consistently in the progress of their children. In the rare instances where parents did not attend for a meeting, a note or a phone call to advise the school would have been appreciated. There will be a no-uniform day on Thursday, 22 December. A voluntary contribution of €1 (or more) may be brought to school. The proceeds will be given to the Child Hood Cancer Unit at Crumlin Hospital and to the Cystic Fibrosis Unit
