Mobile Phones

For a variety of reasons relating to bullying and the difficulties of being held responsible for property, the Board of Management has decided to ban pupils from bringing mobile phones to school with effect from 30 August 2004. If a pupil brings a mobile phone to school, it will be confiscated and parents will be asked to collect the phone from the school.

School Books

The pupils have been now been given the booklists. As the books become progressively more expensive, parents are advised to obtain the books second-hand if possible. In the event of the lists being mislaid, copies of the book lists will be published on the school web site, www.colmcilles.net

For parents who qualify to receive the school book grant scheme, the maximum amount which will be given is £20 per child.  Applications for inclusion in this scheme should be made to Mr D. O’Reilly, Deputy Principal. The school will attempt to provide some books second-hand, and parents are asked to ensure that the books are kept in a reasonable condition and returned to Mr O’Reilly at the end of the school year.
