6th Class PupilsWe wish our pupils in Sixth Class well as they transfer to a variety of post-primary schools. We thank them for the contribution which they have made to our school community during the past eight years Gaelic FootballThe Gaelic football team did very well throughout the year, and were unlucky that fixture congestion caused tiredness to set in towards the end of the season. They can be very proud of their achievements, particularly beating Ayrefield SNS, the eventual winners, in a preliminary round. We thank Ms Eimear Bambrick for providing coaching in the school throughout the year and Fingallians GFC and St Colmcille’s GFC for their very practical support for our team. The soccer team played some fantastic football during the season, and were beaten in the semi-final of the cup. Well done to all involved with the team. For the second year in succession, the school athletic teams won all three categories in the inter-school competitions. Congratulations to Jason McCarthy who won the individual event in every race in which he competed. Thanks to the Leinster Rugby Union for providing coaching to the pupils in our Fifth and Sixth Classes. To the parents and teachers who supported the teams by providing transport to the various sporting events and also by assisting at the supervision at swimming. The booklists will be issued on Friday, 24 June. The lists will also be uploaded on the school website, www.colmcilles.net. Some second hand books will be available on Monday, 27 June. The times for the second-hand book sale will be given to the pupils
The Graduation Mass for the pupils in 6th Class will be held at 7.30 p.m. in St Colmcille’s Church on Tuesday, 28 June. The parents and guardians of pupils in the 6th Classes are invited to share this very auspicious event in the life of our school community. As we come to the end of another school year, we thank every member of our school community for their support, co-operation and encouragement during the year. To the pupils, parents and teachers who will not be returning to our school, we wish them well as they embark on a new phase in their lives. We wish everybody a happy and safe summer vacation.
