WelcomeWe welcome back Mr. Jimmy Byrne and we welcome Ms. Eimear Conroy, Ms. Caitríona Mc Hale, Ms. Caroline Cottell and Ms. Orla Murtagh to our school. We also welcome our Junior Infants and our other new pupils. Fund RaisingThe Sponsored Jog was due to have been held on Friday, 11 October 2002, but it was postponed due to weather conditions. It will be held as soon as the weather improves. The Reading Marathon was launched on Friday last. Even though the Jog has not been held yet, we are very grateful to the parents who have already made contributions to the school fund. Warning with Regard to Bogus CollectorsThe pupils in every class have been advised not to collect money from anybody other than their immediate family. We received three phone calls during the week with regard to people purporting to collect for our school. In situations such as this, our advice is not to give money, and to contact the Gardaí. Uniforms and TracksuitsWe are very grateful to the members of the Parents’ Association who did such tremendous work in organising the uniforms and tracksuits. Would it be possible please to have the pupils’ names put on tracksuits and uniforms so that owners can be found for the various items of clothing which are picked up each day? Donations of uniforms and tracksuits are always appreciated. WebsiteThe school website is now being regularly updated. Why not pay it a visit, and check out its many interesting features? Healthy EatingSome school policies are being revised at present, and a survey is being undertaken with regard to the healthy eating policy. Your comments would be much appreciated. Gaelic Football CoachingMs Emer Bambrick commenced as coach to our pupils in 1st, 2nd and 3rd classes. We are very grateful to Fingallians GAA club for sponsoring this initiative. ThanksTo the Capper family for providing a PC. Donations of old computers, operating on Windows 95 or Windows 98, are always welcome. Cleaner RequiredSt. Colmcille's Boys National School has a vacancy for a cleaner. The hours are from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. For further details contact the school secretary @ 8405132.
