The Athletics training started at the beginning of October, all the races had been cancelled in October and November. Ms Sweeney and Ms O’ Doherty have been running the cross-country since the start of October.

On Wednesday 28 March 2007 St. Colmcille’s took part in the first Cross-Country race this year. The Official called out the Under 10 boys and girls. Our own Cathal Doyle won the Under 10s race. Colm Deasy was the best placed Colmcille’s runner in the Under12s as he came in 3rd place. In the Under 13s Gavin Purcell won the race by a good 15-20 metres and he was followed by Dylan McGlade.

St. Colmcille’s raced against 5 other schools on Wednesday 2 May in Balheary. The under 10s came second over all in their races. Colm Deasy won the race for the under 10s. The under 12s won the competition. Alan O’Sullivan won the race for the under 12s. The under 13s came in second by 1 point. Gavin Persil came in second and Dylan McGlade came in third for the under 13s.
