A Little bit of Background

Tory Island, Co.Donegal, is one of the larger and more developed islands. The resident population swells to over 1,000 in the summer.

The Belfry in west town is the most impressive structure to have survived destruction near the pier in west town is a reminder of the monastic period, and the TAU Cross is a contact with the Coptic Rite, Alexandria, Egypt. Balor’s Fort in East Town dates from the Iron Age.

Religious Services in the Catholic Church on Sunday at 11 a.m. Mass daily. Year round occasional ceilidhe music sessions.

Tory School of Primitive Art is on show.
