Trekkin' Eegits
are on the road again! This year, we will be criss-crossing West Waterford to raise
funds for St. John's School, Dungarvan - specifically their playground
fund. St.
John’s School in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford provides
learning opportunities to children with mild to moderate general learning
disabilities. This school is without a suitable playground area and, up to now,
has made do with a small tar macadam area.The school plans to renovate this area and put in place a safe and
suitable play area that the pupils of St. John’s deserve. In April, the Trekkin’ Eegits are walking 140kms in 12 relay stages along the roads and boreens West Waterford to raise funds for this fantastic and much needed project. Starting at The Square, Cappoquin, walkers
will make their way along the route passing Melleray, Modeligo, Ballinameela,
Keereen, Dromana, Lismore, Tallow, Aglish, Clashmore, Youghal Bridge,
Knockanore and Tourin to finish back in Cappoquin. This route will take approximately 25 - 26 hours to complete. It will start on Friday 25th April 2014 at 4:00pm and finish on Saturday 26th April at approximately 6pm. So dust off those walking shoes and runners and
