Firmware

The Firmware on your mobile phone is the software that runs it. It is always being updated and improved by the manufacturer to iron out bugs, add new features etc. With the latest firmware you should see less problems like freezing, re-booting, and your phone should react faster than before.

Within the warranty period of your phone you can have the firmware updated free at a Nokia service centre. If your phone is over 12 months old or if you have invalidated your warranty by fitting coloured LEDs, having it unlocked by someone other than your service provider etc., then you can send your phone to Unlocking Ireland for a software upgrade.

To find out the firmware version of your phone press *#0000# (with a SIM card inserted)
