History of the Pitch and Putt Union of Ireland

The P.P.U.I was formed in 1961 and is the governing body of the amateur game of pitch and Putt in Ireland. The P.P.U.I's objectives are to promote, develop, and foster and control the game of pitch and putt. The Pitch and Putt union of Ireland has approximately 16,000 members and there are over 172 clubs that are affiliated to it nationwide.

The Organisation structure consists of club committees,county and or regional boards,Provincial Councils and Central council ( the national executive). The Unions head office is manned by a full time admistrator and it also has a full-time developing coaching administrator. All other administrators are on a voluntry basis.

Charges for affiliation and Registration

The charges for affiliation and registration to the P.P.U.I as and from the 1st of January 2004 is €70 per club, €17 per adult and €3 per juvenile member but the affiliation for members to be registered with the P.P.U.I will be paid through membership fees. Each county, regional board and provincial council recieves a share of each registration fee in its Jurisdiction to help towards the financing of that body. The Central Council is funded by its share of its grants, sponsorship and competition revenve.

  6. Eligibility to grant aid from the P.P.U.I.
