I dug out these negatives from the traditional family file -- the cardboard box in my mother's room -- and had them reprinted. I think photos 1, 2 & 3 are probably from around 1969. I'm certainly not yet four years old.
The main bunch were taken when I was likely between 4 and 6, I think. That would date them to between 1970 and 1972. Note the hairstyles and the clothes... I await, with interest, the comments of my sisters who seem very fashion-conscious, and especially the comments of their kids....! Another thing that strikes me is the quantity of grass and the abundance of flowers in the fields, the memory of which I'm delighted to have reaffirmed.
I have more strips of negatives from those days which I hope to add to the collection some time in the future. With luck, I may be able to organise the family collection into something of a proper archive, but I think that'll be a longer term project.

-1- Joan Walsh, David Walsh, Maureen
Walsh, Eva Walsh, Alice Farrell, Willie Walsh, Dingo the
dog. The view (which we're blocking) is my very earliest
memory. You can see more of it in Image 3, including, far
off, a small piece of the roof of Edmonstown school. -2- David Walsh, Willie Walsh, Dingo. In the background is the farmhouse in which we lived. |

-3- My Dad, Tom, with me on his knee and
the ever-present Dingo. In the background, Eva, Alice
Farrell, David and Joan. -4- Joan Walsh, Willie Walsh, Dingo. Wellington boots can just be made out on my feet. They were my main form of footwear when I was young and tramping about the fields. |

-5- Eva, my sister, and my Mom, Maureen.
I always liked my hair worn long, despite the fact that
strangers used to mistake me for a girl...! -6- Joan, Alice Farrell, Eva. |

-7- Eva and Joan with me between and
Dingo standing by. Eva had a Honda while Joan ran a
Yamaha motorbike. Apart from the 47 bus, the only other
transport in the family was my father's Comer truck. -8- A neighbour and my Granny Walsh. We're unsure who the neighbour was in this photo. The picture is at the back of my grandmother's house in Rockbrook. |

-9- Not the best exposure... I think the
person is my uncle, Billy Walsh, but even in the
enlargement it isn't too clear. It might be his brother,
Joe. This is at the front of my grandmother's house which
is still there. -10- Willie (terrified he's going to fall off) and Eva (catching some sun). |
