INTRODUCTION TO BATIK TECHNIQUES:

Batik is an ancient art form.  It can be best described as a method of applying various colours to a design by using hot wax, which penetrates the cloth, thus preventing dye spreading to certain areas.  Batik originated on the island of Java in Indonisa.  It is an exciting medium to work with, as there is an element of amazement at the results, when the wax is removed.

INTRODUCTION TO SILK PAINTING:

Silk painting is magical, with just a touch of a brush you can create exotic flowers or landscapes.   Use a gold gutta outliner, wax or salt to create a striking and unique work of art.
