He married "Mary A." from Livingston co., NY. He apparently lived inLima, Livingston co., NY for awhile around age 21. In 1869 his name was givenas "John O. Stone of Montour" along with Geo. J. Frost - both werewitnesses on a will of their neighbor Nathan Brisco. In 1878 he was aTown of Montour Assessor. The 1880 census shows him living next doorto his brother Charles STONE. He had a farm hand George KNIFFEN inhis household (age 21).
A 1912 marriage announcement for his daughter named the mother asAdeline PRICE STONE, but she was not on the 1910 or 1920 census. - Shecould have been a 2nd wife, who died before 1920. The 1914 farmdirectory showed John with a farm of 50 acres in Montour Falls. Hewas also listed in Catharine as a farmer of oats who boards withHorton L. Charles (his son-in-law) at Odessa.
