National Cub Challenge  2007 (3rd February 2007) Hosted by the Slieve Bloom Scout County in Tullamore College, Co. Offaly. Results: 1st: 98th Cork    West Cork 2nd: 1st Leitrim   Lough Keel 3rd: 6th Offaly   Slieve Bloom National Scouts Challenge  2007 (10th February 2007) Hosted by the Slieve Bloom Scout County in Tullamore College, Co. Offaly. Results: 1st: Tolka    191 Dublin (A) 2nd: Lough Keel   1 Roscommon 3rd: 6th Tipperary   Slieve Bloom National Orienteering Day Well done to all that attended the Orienteering Competition at Blackwood, Mucklagh on Saturday November 11th. Thanks to the 7th Offaly Ballykilmurray Scouts for organising the event. 14 Teams from Clara, Roscrea, Birr, Ballykilmurray, Banagher and Portarlington took part in the event.  Results 1st: 3rd Offaly Birr 2nd: 6th Tipp Roscrea 3rd: 7th Offaly Ballykilmurray 4th: 6th Tipp Roscrea 5th: 6th Offaly Banagher Special Award: Quickest Problem Solution 4th Laois Portarlington Scout County Challenge Day Well done to Clara Scouts on hosting an excellent Scout County Challenge Day. 14 teams of Scouts from 6 Groups attended on Saturday December 1st. Banagher, Ballykilmurray, Durrow, Portarlington, Clara and Roscrea all attended. After a keenly contested event Table 1 from 6th Tipp Roscrea were victorious for the second year in a row beating 6th Offaly Banagher (Table 11) into 2nd Place. Results: 1st: 6th Tipp Roscrea (Table 1) – 81 points 2nd: 6th Offaly Banagher (Table 11) – 79 points 3rd: 6th Tipp Roscrea (Table 2) – 64 points Joint 4th: 7th Offaly Ballykilmurray (Table 13) & 7th Offaly Ballykilmurray (Table 14) – 60 points Joint 6th: 6th Tipp Roscrea (Table 4) & 6th Offaly Banagher (Table 12) – 59 points Roscrea & Banagher will represent the County at the National Challenge Day in Tullamore on February 11th Cub County Challenge Day Portarlington Scouts hosted a superb Cub County Challenge Day on Saturday November 25th. 14 Teams represented 8 Groups were presented. Roscrea, Banagher, Durrow, Portarlington, Birr, Ballykilmurray, Clara and Tullamore were all represented. After an excellent event Durrow Cubs were narrowly the winners with Banagher in second place. Durrow and Banagher will represent the County at the National Challenge Day in Tullamore on February 4th. This will be the 6th & 7th different Cub Pack to represent the County on the National Stage following Clara, Pullough, Tullamore, Mountrath & Roscrea who have represented the County in the 2005 & 2006 events.
