Don't insert an image directly into your document - link to it instead to reduce the size of the document. Do this by selecting Picture, From File and then choosing Link to file from the Insert drop-down menu. Rotate an image in Word 2002 by clicking it to select it and dragging the top green handle to the desired position.
Hold the [Shift] key as you rotate the image to constrain it to 15-degree rotations.
Reverse a WordArt image by i ..oo- dragging the handle on one side of the image over the border on the other side.
Change an inline picture so it can be moved by right-clicking it, choosing Format Picture, Layout tab and selecting In front of text.

To add a patterned border around an image, right-click it, choose Format Picture, Colors and Lines tab and set the Line Color to a pattern.
