What you are shown in these pages is an illustrated album of what could be called 'Verge Memorials'. These are inscribed slabs at the scenes of fatal accidents bearing the names of those killed.

Pages are in alphabetical order of Province, County and Location

You will get a full listing by clicking on the "Monuments" signpost in the panel on the left. You can also move backward and forward from any monument page.

Regrettably, I had to omit the many wooden crosses because most are of a temporary nature and also because so many have either no inscription or an inscription which has become illegible.

This collection is an ongoing project and I have many roads to travel yet. If you know of a monument in your area which I have not seen, please e-mail the address on the blue roadsign in the left-hand panel. (Click on the sign to see why I am not typing my e-mail address in this paragraph!) If you give an accurate description of the location of an undocumented monument I will endeavour to visit it within 30 days. Your contribution will be acknowledged when the page appears on this site.
