Azart,
The Ship Of Fools.
Penrose Quay, Cork, Ireland.
51º53'9 North, 008º27'7 West.

February 5, 2000.

Crew and ship are on Penrose Quay in Cork, discussing and preparing next year performance. The show is called "Along The Edge" and tells of the hazardous voyage of mankind through the ages and what, according to the Fools, had best be forgotten... or not? It's a millennium-tale and some famous historical characters join in. Costumes are being made, the seating being painted. At the same time some of the actors are engaged in workshops for kids in the art-centre "Triskel". Here around Easter the Fools hit the catwalk for a special Fool's Fashion Parade. In the "Sculpture Factory" a temporary mini-TV-studio now is made for AZART-TV, a weekly 30-minute docu-soap each Saturday shown on the Amsterdam Kleurnet TV. And on February 28 Azart has her birthday: eleven years ago the ship was purchased for a new destination: a travel around the world as a floating musictheatre. Eleven is the Fool's number!

The Music-theatre "Along The Edge" will be presented in Cork eight evenings: May 11-14 and 17-20 at 21 p.m. The place probably is Albert Quay.

Early morning May 22 the Ship leaves the hospitable harbour and city of Cork. The TOUR 2000 brings ship, crew and show to cities in Ireland, Northern Ireland, England, Scotland, maybe Iceland and Holland. The last performances take place in September in Amsterdam. And then & there the ship is going to be prepared for intercontinental travels...

We keep you informed, August & Crew.

Azart,
The Ship Of Fools.
Penrose Quay, Cork, Ireland.
51º53’9 North, 008º27’7 West.

December 15, 1999.

Six fools are hibernating in the Lee, Cork’s main river and we must say, it’s wet. And damp. This last year of the millennium, this dark month of December we dedicate to a reflection about the six years of sailing and performances we did and about another life-time to go. At the same time many inhabitants of Cork express their gratitude that the Ship is staying in town, that Cork needs it, needs to be shaken up. This is the eternal fool’s task.

Before leaving early summer 2000 Azart presents to all Cork inhabitants and friends of the new Music Theatre which she starts preparing now. The show is called "Along The Edge" and will be presented May 17-20 on Albert Quay at 21 pm. The show takes about an hour and the entrance is a tuppence a pound. There are plans to turn these four nights into CORC’S FIRST FESTIVAL OF FOOLS by inviting other companies, musicians and fools. This could become a tradition because one thing is clear: Cork needs it. The Captain keeps you informed.

August & Crew.
