A CELEBRATION OF OUR SCHOOLS
PAST AND PRESENT

PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION 2006

Ballinacree Historical Society welcomes you to celebrate the heritage of our schools in the parish over 100 years of education.  This education spanned difficult periods in Irish history, which affected greatly the livelihood of the parishioners.  Irrespective of this, parents stove to educate their children as best they could so that they in the future could have better lives.

The school buildings of the parish, the records of education on display and the historical talk on the Hedge Schools are a testament to the endeavours of past generations who stove to education the children of the parish.

We especially salute the teachers who came to the parish from various parts of the country to educate the children of our parish.
