Ballymacelligott Handball Club News 25th November 2001

On Saturday night last our local GAA Club made presentations to the five handball All Ireland winners. The presentations were made at the GAA Clubs Annual Social held in The Earl Of Desmond, Hotel. Presentations were made to Maria Daly, Gary O Connor, Tracey Buckley, Sandie McSwiney and Catriona Casey.
The Club appreciates these presentations and it is marvellous that the players are recognised in our local Parish. We wish to thank Tom O Donoghue and Ann O Sullivan for the invitation. The clubs representatives had a great night.

On Saturday last three from Ballymac Handball Club girls represented Munster on the 40 x 20 Inter Provincial Team of Ten All Ireland title defeating Lenister. The girls were: Sharon Twomey, Sandie McSwiney and Maria Daly (Ballymac ) Congratulations to all the girls. It is difficult to get on an Inter Provincial Team and a great achievement to win the title.

Glenbeigh Tournament.
Twelve players from the Club traveled to Glenbeigh for a tournament on Saturday last. The tournament was part of a weekend celebration held by the Glenbeigh Club. We wish to thank all the players who traveled and all the supporters who traveled with them. The results are as follows.

U12 Boys Runners-up: Brendan Crowe & Aaron O Halloran.

All Ireland Colleges.

The final of the junior singles All Ireland Colleges will be played in Croke Park on Wednesday next. Tim Prendiville is representing CBS Tralee. We wish Tim every success.


Munster Council Youth Project.
Congratulations to the club's youth project team who took part in The County Final, which was held on Sunday in The Earl of Desmond Hotel, Tralee. The team is Aidan O Donoghue, Denis Keane, Brian O Connor, Brendan Crowe and Lisa Falvey. A special thanks to Jackie Crowe for making a splendid display board for the project. We also wish to thank Brendan Falvey for accompanying the team on both outings. It is much appreciated.
