Joe Cooney Open Day April 27th 2002.
A very successful open day for underage hurling was held at Coolera Park on
Sat. last Apr. 27th.
Joe Cooney, the Galway hurling stalwart, was in attendance to impart some
of his renowned experience and expertise to the next generation of young hurlers. Before lunch a total
of 32 young hurlers covering under-8, under-10 and under-12 categories partook in the intensive coaching
session which was ably coordinated by Joe with assistance from the local hurling coaches. A lively
hurling match rounded off the proceedings very nicely
