At the recent AGM Terry McMahon was returned as Secretary
while Cathal was re-elected Chairperson. The new Treasurer for the
Club is Liz Comerford who succeeded the very successful J Mungovan.
At the Bord Na Nog AGM Stephen Devaney was returned as Chairperson
while Martin Gillen retains the position of Secretary.
There were many success stories recorded during 2003 , one of the most
notable being the continued success of our youn Hurlers
These included representing Coolera in the All-Ireland Final (Minor),
U-14 Championship and Feile
winners right down to U-8 at indoor.
Best wishes to all of the above in their responsibilities for the coming year.
A very good turnout attended both meetings and sets the
ball rolling for the coming season.
Team Managements for the different teams will be selected by the next meting.

Well done to our 3 young Players who made history by being
the first to win County Senior Medals from the Coolera-Strandhill Club.
The 3 Players are
JONATHON PORTER, LARRY CADDEN AND COLM SCANLON.
(2003)Congratulations to both the U-10 and U-12 Boys Teams who both won their opening games of the season.
Well done to both teams and their Mentors and good luck for the rest of the year.
Both the Under-14 Boys and Girls have played games in their
respective competitions.
The Boys had a comprehensive win over Curry last week
in the Feile Competition.
Unfortunately the U-14 Boys team were knocked out of the Feile competition by a stronger St Johns Team on Sunday.
The girls have played two - Won one and lost one.
The U-16 Boys have played one.
The Minor team have played one.

useful kick-start to the season.Hopefully this will add to the foundations of
enhancing the Coaching structure within the club.
Best of luck to the secretary on the occasion of his stag party and upcoming wedding.
Its great to see so many enthusiastic people getting ready for the new season. We wish everyone every success and enjoyment throughout the year.

The Under-16 All-Ireland Hurling Final.
Seven of our players featured on the U-16 panel that recently
contested the Final.
To reach the final was a great achievement and great credit must
go to
Tom Brenan for the trojan work that he has done down through the
years with this group of players.

Hurling
There has been some fantastic
performances by our teams last year.
Pride of place must go to the Community Games Teams- both Boys and
Girls for their excellent achievements.
Both Teams reached the County Finals and did themselves and the club
proud with their magnificant performances.
The Under-10 boys had a Lazarus like
performance earlier on in the
competition and continued to dismiss all other opposition on the way
to the final.
In the final they were very unlucky to end up as Runners-Up despite
having over 70% possession.
This was a great achievement considering the team had to field
without 5 key players!Well done to all concerned
The Under -12 Girls played some
brilliant football throughout the tournament
and on the day of the Final were forced to field with only 11 (!!)
players.
The eleven girls played their hearts out in very tough conditions
and were very unlucky to
end up on the wrong end of the scoreline by the narrowest of margins.

In Hurling our
Under-14 gave a great accout of themselves in the
Feile Competition played in Ulster recently. They recorded agreat
victory over
host club Castleblaney and also a comprehensive win over Creggan.
Unfortunately they were no match for a very strong Middletown team
who
went on to win our Division outright.
This was a great experience for this group who had a very enjoyable
week-end in Castlblaney and Belfast.
