My name is Alan Clarke. This book is about a pig called Wilbur. He was born weak so the Farmer was going to shoot him. But a girl called Fern saved the day. She thought he was cute so she wanted to have him as a pet. Wilbur and Fern became good friends and had great times together. But when Wilbur began to eat too much Fern’s Father said he had to go.

Wilbur was sold for six dollars to Mr. Zuckerman who was Fern’s Uncle and lived only down the road. His new home was a barn. It was warm in winter and cool in summer. Fern visited him everyday but even still Wilbur got bored. Wilbur made friends but his best friend was a Spider called Charlotte. She was no ordinary Spider because she spinned messages in her web. As Wilbur and Charlotte became really close friends they shared good and bad times together.

I am not going to tell you any more of the story but it is a very, very good story. It is the first book I ever liked. There is a film made about the story I haven’t seen it yet but I hope to see to and I hope it’s as good as the book. I would give this book nine out of ten because some of the words are hard.
