Title: The BFG

Author: Roald Dahl

Publisher: Young Puffin

My name is Patrick Dunphy. The BFG is the best book I ever read. I got it in the library in Tramore. It took me a week and a half to read it. It is a very exciting book.

The book is about a little girl called Sophie and the BFG, which stands for the Big Friendly Giant. The BFG is a very kind giant. There are nine other giants in the story that eat people. The other giants have some very weird names, for example Fleshlumper, Childchewer and Gizzardgulper.

The story starts when the BFG takes Sophie out of her bed and brings her to giant country. Giant country was a very boring place. There were only trees and rocks and wasteland. Sophie discovered that the BFG was no ordinary giant. He was a dream blower. He brought dreams to children every night.

The other giants, the bad one’s were going to eat the children in Sophie’s village. The BFG and Sophie stopped the giants with the help of the Queen’s English army. The giants were caught and were put in a pit near the Queen’s palace. The Queen gave a huge castle to the BFG and gave Sophie a little cottage in the Queen’s garden. I really enjoyed it and would give it ten out of ten.
