Wayne.jpg (13282 bytes)Title: Boy

Author: Roald Dahl

Publisher: Puffin

My name is Wayne Rafter. I am nine years old. I am in 3rd class. I picked this book because Roald Dahl wrote it. I like all his Books. He wrote lots of famous books like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and the B.F.G. His father’s name was Harold Dahl. I read this book before at home.

Roald own father and his grandfather were prosperous merchants who sold things from cheese to chicken wire. In September l925 when he was just only nine he set out on his first great adventure of his life from boarding school. His mother had chosen for him a prep school in a part of England, which was as near as it could possibly be to their home in South Wales and it was called St. Peter’s. The full postal address was St. Peter’s School, Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset.

Weston-Super-Mare is a slightly seedy seaside resort with a vast sandy beach, a tremendous long pier, an esplanade running along the sea-front, a clutter of hotels and boarding-houses and about ten thousand little shops selling buckets and spades and sticks of rock and ice-creams. When he was seven, his mother decided he should leave Kindergarten and go to a proper boy’s school. By good fortune, there existed a well-known preparatory school of boys about a mile from his house.

I would give this book 10 out of 10 because it was a good book and it was a book for my age group.
