I won first Prize--: My name is John Kavanagh. I
am nine years old. I am in third class this year. Mr. Prenter is my teacher. We had a big
raffle in our school lately and I won first prize. The prize was a signed Waterford
Jersey. The entire Waterford Senior hurling team signed the jersey. Three of the players
turned up in the school for the raffle. They were Stephen Frampton, Brian Flannery and
Shane Ahearne. Stephen Frampton was asked to draw the winning ticket. It was a pink ticket
number 166. I couldn't believe my ears or my eyes when I heard Stephen call out the
winning ticket. I looked at my ticket and it was pink and number 166. He called the number
a second time and then it dawned on me it was mine. I had won first prize. All the boys
cheered and clapped. My photograph was taken for the newspapers with the players and I
wore the jersey. It was the best prize ever.Written by --:
